Actually it's been 5 WEEKS of none-stop, 10-11 hr days of RL demand performance. Long story short... a very old (133 yo), very small company 'WAS' is a generation behind with a "We don't need no stinking safety procedures" attitude had a visit from OSHA.
Result- enough citations and penalties to close there doors.
Yesterday a presentation of developed (in writing) and implemented training and reporting procedures for Fire extinguisher use and evacuation, industrial lift truck training and operation, punch press setup, chemical identification and records, byproduct disposal, etc., etc., etc. for a total of 11 documented procedural programs, design, fabrication and installation of 28 machine guards (with before and after pictures), was given at OSHA regional office. [And that really is the short version]
Since the first of December I got to do things I forgot I knew how to do. Didn't need this at anytime and sure not over the holidays. I'd try to peek up
......... I mean peek into Pixies just to see that all was well and run away without saying hi.
The sad/stupid part is it's not my company and a couple of us seemed to be more concerned than the owners.
But I'm DONE!............... and home now Lil.
