I would have thought he was in 'special population' at the beginning.

I am not sure in all places that they work terribly hard to protect child abusers. At least that is what I tell myself when I think of the father in one of my cases.

I hate to say, but it's cheaper and kinder to execute child killers.

He plead in order to avoid the death penalty. I have to say, in this country our prosecutors have all gone soft. In order to spare the victims more grief they plead. And frankly cross examining victims and their families is an unpleasant job but hello, it is their job.
I want prosecutors to act in the PUBLIC's best interest and put these fuckers where they belong.

Sorry OF, I have to disagree.
The simple fact that convicted child molesters/killers are treated as scum by the rest of the prison population, all convicted criminals themselves, shows how truly disturbing their crimes are.
Yes, I agree that it would be cheaper to execute them, and it would be kind, but I ask you, how "kind" were THEY themselves to the children who were their victims?
A LONG, violent, outcast, life in prison is exactly what they deserve for their actions, if guards and prison officials turn a blind eye towards their safety....so be it.

i've also heard that it isn't cheaper in the u.s. to execute criminals because the cost of appeals is larger than three squares and a roof for life. not that we always need to save a buck, either
