I was just reading this article a little bit ago myself. I've always been more of a dog person and cats just seem to shy away from me. I'm thinking I'll be a bit worried the next time a cat decides to snuggle up next to me.

Jude30,
How about that! I seems that medical science still has a thing or two to learn.
An interesting story. Thank you.

I thought it was a pretty cool story. My wife thought it was creepy.

If dogs can sniff out cancer and predict upcoming seizure activity I think we should seriously look at what they sense that we don't.

So long as it steers clear of me, I'm cool with it.

You have no idea how much I wish this sense were reciprocal and that humans could tell when animals were going to die *sniff sniff*.......I believe that animals know when their own time is up too (hence why cats in particular go missing beforehand).
If it were me, I'd be absolutely fine with having a cat snuggle up to me at the last and very comforted to know that my loved one had a furry companion like that. I certainly wouldn't send him out of the room - that would just seem ungrateful.

Of course.
We have learned many things from animals and I expect we will continue as our ability to quantify our observation grows. This is the way we have learnt and developed everything, whether we are look within, beyond or at ourselves.
The only thing shocking is the egos that consider we know everything about ANYTHING.

This kitty was on our local news. They interviewed an elderly man who said it's a nice cat, I'm always happy to have him visit me but I'm even happier when he leaves my room. lol
