My dad can do it from 200 yards with his 8 mm Mauser. Course it was built specifically for him and then he spent several hundred rounds getting the scope sighted in as well. It's funny when he pulls it out and cuts the target in half in front of someone who hasn't seen him do it before.

I have no clue as to the production date, or use of prior to my dad's ownership. I do know that the stock was custom built for him and he is the best shot in the family with that particular rifle. I could always ask though and get back with you later. My specialty (albeit almost 15 years ago now) has always been archery.

I shot Olympic and was subsequently part of the Junior Olympic Archery Division (JOAD). I used to be quite good, but lost interest after moving south. There's no JOAD program in South Carolina except in Columbia which was a couple of hours one way.

I have a love for all weaponry, but medieval is my favorite. However, no matter how many swords, knives, bows and arrows I have access to......I"ll always have a good rifle sitting right next to them.

Depending on the size of the swords......I'd cross the 40 inch and the 36 across my back, the 24 straight down the center of my back, then have my 28 and 32 on either hip. If I decided to carry my shield I could conceivably hide a very short sword between my arm and the wood. Daggers would get tucked into boots and gauntlets. That would be more than enough weaponry for almost any situation.

Weaponry is a matter what is available and what threat you are defending from. That can be anything from a fly swatter or slapping a mosquito on your arm up to nuclear warfare.
