Keep reading! The Simarillion is a tough book for about 5 chap, but well worth it. As well as giving the complete story of all 20 rings, it also reveals the origin of Gandalf and the White Council, and of Hobbits and Elves.

I'm reading "A Million Little Pieces" and have a Sue Monk Kidd novel next in the lineup - "Secret Life of Bees" I think is the name. It came to me highly recommended.
