				Keeping abreast

Sandra Sully and Anne Fulwood have some stiff opposition in the late night news market.

Naked News TV! will make its Australian debut tomorrow night on Foxtel and Austar - on The Comedy Channel.

For those unfamiliar with the whole naked news deal, here's a brief rundown.

Each edition begins with lead anchor Roxanne West, who gradually disrobes as she reads the news. Roxy is then followed by the team of female reporters who report, in the nude, on current events, fringe news (whatever that is), life and leisure topics, technology, sports and Hollywood gossip.

The press release spiel bills the show as "a weekly television news infotainment program" which "delivers both serious and lighter sides of the news in an energetic, fast-paced style".

So, apart from the obvious reason, why would Australian audiences want to tune in to the 50-minute program produced in Toronto, Canada?

"It's world-based ... it covers Australian news that's on the global stage," a Foxtel spokesman told Spike yesterday.
