A video was made and distributed to Schools. The school then has the option to show it or not. Your local school board will make that decision. This is the group of people that you voted for to govern your local schools. The saying “act local, think global” goes a long way here. Get involved in your local school, local boys and girls club and personally show the kids what tolerance is.
People like Mr. Dobson will always try and say something outrageous to grab attention. If it is not Mr. Sponge Bob Square Pants, it will be Bert and Ernie, or some other future cartoon.
One of my hopes for the internet age is one of more understanding of this world and those of us who live on it. My niece’s school has connected with 3 other school around the world. Each week they post something to the web page – photo’s, stories, research projects, local sayings, customs, they are even learning some words from each others language….. my niece is learning about another culture through the eyes of a peer (posts are translated for them so everyone is reading it in there own language).
Just my two cents worth. I’m now going to go and dig my car out of the snow drift.
