Postal Restrictions for Middle Eastern Countries:

The following is a list of Non-Mailable items for the Middle East. Customs Officials are opening ALL parcels for inspection. Violation of Postal Restrictions could result in the LOSS of the PRIVILEGE OF MAIL FLOW, and is punishable under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, Article 92. PLEASE ENSURE THAT ANYONE SENDING MAIL TO YOUR SOLDIER IS AWARE OF THESE RESTRICTIONS.

1. Securities, currency, or precious metals in their raw state are prohibited.

2. PS Form 2976 (Customs Declaration Form) is required, and is available at all US Post Offices. Articles are liable for customs duty unless they are bona fide gifts intended for use by military personnel. When the contents of a parcel meet the requirements, the mailer must endorse the customs form, "certified to be a bona fide gift, personal effects, or items for personal use of military personnel."

3. Obscene articles, prints, paintings, cards, films, videotapes, etc., and horror comics are prohibited.

4. Any matter containing religious materials contrary to Islamic faith is prohibited

5. Any matter depicting nude or semi-nude persons, pornographic or sexual items is prohibited.

6. Any non-authorized political materials are prohibited.

7. Firearms of any type are prohibited in all classes of mail. This restriction does not apply to firearms mailed to or by official US government agencies.

8. Pork or pork by-products are prohibited

9. Fruits, animals, and living plants are prohibited.

10. Registered mail is prohibited.

11. All alcoholic beverages are prohibited.

12. Materials used in the production of alcoholic beverages (i.e., distilling materials, hops, malt, yeast, etc.) are prohibited.
