Can't you just hear Little Richard doing Amazing Grace?

I can't but I wondered if you could?

Skipthisone,

Ok you’re not gonna believe this one, but the estate of Johnny Cash has blocked an attempt by some advertising company to use his song ‘Ring of Fire’ to promote a hemorrhoid relief product.

True fact! Here’s the link:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/3498749.stm

How about THAT for “crossing over”?

ROFL... ah Skip... that particular song of which you speak... Uncle Cracker & Kenny Chesney... is actually a great song... I do agree tho that it is an odd pairing.. or atleast I thought so before I heard the song.

I thought that Kid Rock's cross over was a bit much... but... I think that it is actually a credit to their talent.. to be able to go from one genre to another..

People like Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Bette Midler, etc. don't count. They're untouchable.

P.S. BIBI, I know Pat Boone sang 'The Osbournes' theme song but I don't know if he did Metallica . . . "Enter Sandman"?

Oh, boy

Tori Amos singing Cannibal Corpse. Actually, Tori Amos did cover Raining Blood by Slayer and I thought her version was fucking atrocious.

Ted Nugent singing Ani DiFranco

Pat Boone singing Cypress Hill

Justin Timberlake singing Pantera

Now those would be fun

Lixy...

I watched a documentry on Kid Rock once.. about his life growing up and such... and I didn't get the impression at all that he had a fondness for country back then.... don't get me wrong... the more I hear him.. the more I like him... tho I will never understand why he spent as much time as he did with Pamela Anderson... but anyway..

Lilith.. the only country song that I can remember Sting doing is "I'm so Happy" with Toby Keith. I wouldn't be surprised in the least tho if he may have also joined in on the tribute to Johnny Cash....

It included songs by Metallica and other groups too.

I think I saw that too jenna! He was quite a wirey, lanky boy....eh? Anyway...wasn't he born in a southern state? Oh shit...I have oldtimer's disease at the moment! LOL! I dunno....but I do know he doesn't live the rocker's lifestyle but has a ranch and leads a cowboy's existence....ergo the reason he and Pamela broke up. She didn't want to move to the south and live on a ranch! Least, that's what she told Howard Stern, anyway!

another genre hopper has turned out to be Rod Stewart... an old timer legedary rocker in his own right... has IN MY OPINION brought back old classics (Moon Glow, The way you look tonight, Smile) in the way that they deserve.... few could have ever done it so well... or dared to try

I have the album upstairs in my collection - its called Classic Rock and they do a whole selection of tracks by various artitists, it is to be honest quite a good album.
