Great,great grandfather came from County Claire,Ireland married grandmother from Cardiff,South Wales then emigrated about 1880 to of all places Kansas!Could be why I like Celtic music so much.

Like so many in the American South, I have deep Scots-Irish roots, & in my youth, had bright copper-red hair & freckles (from mother's side) to prove it. Father's side, mostly English (one of those -ham suffix names, for anyone who cares) with probably some Scots-Irish in the mix. Just to keep things confused, there's a family tree that states Miles Standish as an ancestor, but I'm skeptical about that one. Even more confusing is a story about an ancestor christened Michael Goodknight by one of the French monarchs, but I'm real fuzzy about whether that meant French ancestry, or if he was just an honored visitor that headed back to the Emerald Isle after that.

Scottish and English, with not much else because we didn't have the European influx the States did, at least not back then.
