BSBDD---You"re right about Laconia not being what it used to be.
Everyone used to have their own unofficial;camp ground;next to
the road there.There was no ones official reserved campground
but everyone knew what spot belonged to what group.Now you
can't even camp legally.I don't even go anymore!The memories
that come back ruin it.The last time that I was there;the cops were causing more of a hassle;then the guys were.The locals all-
ways complain;but they make more on beer sales;that weekend;
then everything else all year.Now the only group;legally there;
that I know of;is the H.A.They bought there own piece of land!
Irish
P.S.I used to ride up from Conn.;now I live about 40mi. away and
I don't even go.It's mostly punks;wannabes and weekend warriors;now.The people that think that if you put leathers on;
you're a biker.BULLSHIT!!

BSBDD---The year that I felt sorriest for people;was around 1963-
64(?)I was stationed at PeaseAFB(Ports.NH)The state called on the National Guard;to help keep order;About 30% of them were
bikers;in real life;and were planning to go as bikers.Now they were sending them there;to arrest;their buddies.Talk about confusion&conflict of interest!I was actually called;in front of;the
Wing Commander and told that owning a motorcycle;was Action;
unbecoming of an Airman.I told him"Tough Shit"It was a legally
licensed vehicle in the state and none of his business!That went
over like a fart in church but this is me.No one ever told me how to run my life and never will!Needless to say;I didn't have a promising career in the Armed Forces. Irish

I've been riding for about 10 yrs now, mainly Harleys. Right now I have an 81 FLH. Done a few coast to coast trips and travelled in Europe a lot too. Its the only way to go. Like they say, things are different on a Harley. I was going to post a pic but can't figure out how, lol.

I rode bikes for many years. My latest was a '75 Harley Sportster. Damn I miss that bike. I got married and she hated it so I sold it. Now she's an ex.... leave it to me to part with the wrong ride.

Had a '73' Sportster.........bought it in a box and built it from there! Sold everything but the cat, the camaro and the scuba gear when we moved to Florida. Came back to Pa. and bought a house.......so we ran outta money before we could buy the bike back. Haven't had a savings account to speak of since that damn down payment. But there is always the elusive future! LOL!

Any Motorcycle Owners....

I've been riding a few years. At the moment I ride a 1983 Yamaha XVZ12 Venture. My wife rides a 1999 Triumph Legend TT. We did a 17 day, 18 state, 5613 mile tour of the Western US last year.
This year we're headed down the West coast, from the tip of the Olympic Peninsula in Washington (that's where I live) to the Mexican border.
Some day I'd love to come ride your country. Maybe, someday.

Comshaw---1st,Welcome!2cd,I have a question.I have been
a serious Triumph follower,for many years.I have gone to the
Triumph factory school.I have been riding for over 43 yrs.The
last few yrs.,I havn't kept up with any of the newer bikes.My
bike,is a '73 Triumph chopper,bought new in Conn.& rebuilt
many times with many custom modifications.Is your wifes bike
a two or three cyl?I didn't even know that they made a triple,
except for the Trident,until I stopped one day to look at a bike
for sale & realised that it was 3cyl instead of 2cyl.I haven't
followed most bikes,since they took on the RACER look.The
reason that I ask,is that Triumph is my preferred personal bike.
There is a great following for Harleys.They look&sound nice,but
after running my own motorcycle shop,I will ride them but not own one.This is looking at things from a mechanics point of view,
so Harley affectionados,don't start writting in. Irish
P.S.Different strokes,for different folks!

Lilith---Any pictures of my bike were taken years ago,with an
old-style camera.I have OLD photos but not the negatives.I
wouldn't know how or even IF they could be converted to
computer pictures. Irish
P.S.When I first chopped my bike from stock,I took pictures,to
show the difference.I also have pictures of my Grandson,sitting
on my bike.He was 1yr old in the pictures.He is 10yrs now.Thats
how old the pictures are!My bike is painted Black Imron with
Kelly Green Pin Striping.The striping says"Irish"on the "dished"
sides of the"peanut"gas tank!You would love it!
