since we are homo sapiens now, and it is homo sapiens who classified us as such, and homo sapiens who also classifyied the other species that came before us in the genus homo, and if we manage to survive/evolve for several hundred millennia more, do you think we will re-name our own species? :dizzy:

It's always the people that make a big scene about leaving that never really leave... they keep finding their way back to make a grand scene yet again. It's those that slip silently away that truly leave.

It's a drizzly day in Connecticut, and I kinda like it. I wish I were home to take a nap. It's good sleeping weather.

I'm home and would love a nap, but damn if I don't have a million things to do, not to mention unpacking.

I wasn't going to mention unpacking in the 'moving' thread, maddy.
Don't worry, I'll be moving this year and feeling your pain yet again. *sigh* Five moves in three years. Kill.me.now.

I seem to recall that homo sapien roughly means "same man" or "same as man"...inferring that the fossils they found are the same as modern humans...& also, we humans today are actually referred to as "homo sapiens sapiens"...not sure why doubling the word makes it different...

Speaking of doubling... Microsoft's big business operating system used to be Windows NT, the NT standing for New Technology.
When you start Windows 2000 the splash screen says "Built on NT Technology".
That must have been thought up in Microsoft's Dept of Redundacy Dept.

Oh yeah... I've seen that one in other places... even a Mix-A-Lot song, Beepers.

Ok...
I just got an error while posting to Pixies. Because I'm a good person, I sent the error report and got this response:
"At this time, no solutions are available for the problem you reported. However, to help prevent more errors from occurring, we recommend you install Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2), and then install the latest security updates for your computer."
In other words "we don't know wtf happened and we can't help you, but if you install SP2, you won't be plagued by errors that aren't hitting you now".

You'd never dream of taking the tags of your mattresses, either, would you? :halo:

You know the ones -- you can't remove the tags under penalty or whatever.
