Ginger, we haven't really gotten the opportunity to explore how it feels different together....but I think the most important thing is that I now feel like I have a reason to work on being the person I *should* be for my husband. And he told me he felt the same thing ~~ he has been eating better, and I went to the gym. And I've also tried to do and say the things that will set us up for a life of happiness. Such as going back to school.

Of course, there are other differences as well, but this is the biggest one.

We talked about it...but he really wanted something a bit more traditional. So we went to the Little White Wedding Chapel and were married by a real minister. But inside I was imagining this 6'5" tall black guy dressed as Elvis.

It is always nice to have family approve or accept important decisions that we make in our lives, but one thing that you have to keep in mind - they aren't living your life for you...you and only you are responsible for your own happiness! I am glad that you and your S/O decided to "take the plunge" and follow your hearts and do what feels right for both of you.
