They are crammed 4 to a room at a La Quinta near the airport. They had nice posh rooms in London so they are sort of cramped at the end of a journey. Close quarters. They do have their luggage so at least they have coats and gloves etc.
Trying to get 50 passengers on a flight together must be a logistical nightmare.

It's almost worth the airline hiring a coach, if they can thaw one out for you.

This is Lizz. Mayhem is out in the frozen tundra stuck in a snowdrift in a coach bus right now. the engine still runs and they are all warm in the current frigid conditions. But it looks like once all are rescued, he won't becoming home tonight. Stupid weather and it separating families anyway....

You know it was hot in Oz yesterday when the wildlife is dropping dead out of the trees, mass deaths of flying foxes

Having the Bengals lose in the playoff. Not so much for me, but our second oldest son is an avid Bengals fan (for reasons I don't understand). But, I know he was really hoping they'd go all the way this year and won't be happy that they're out of it now. I'm sad for him.

I agree, BIBI. It's -12F right now (noon) and I've been out shoveling five different times in the last 4 hours. I shovel for a bit but within ten minutes, even dressed very warmly, my feet, and hands are cold and I come in for a while. Probably 3 more times before I'll have the drive cleared enough to get out. Drifts are over a foot high with maybe 8" of general accumulation.
I'M DEFINITELY READY FOR SPRING! I don't remember a day like this since 1977-79 ... the first three years after we moved to the Peoria area. Brrrrrr. Must be that global warming acting up again.

My dad had a stroke yesterday. He's doing pretty well, all things considered, but he still doesn't have the use of his right side, and he's pretty pissed about that. I'm grateful that he didn't lose speech or cognition, and that he's able to be pissed about it, but it's really scary and I feel helpless.

Sorry to hear that AZRH. My Favorite First Husband's dad had a stroke last May. He lost a lot of vision, and some cognitive stuff but his motor function is fine. He was released and sent home with no rehab and no therapy or services. He is so frustrated. I feel helpless too.
Hope your dad heals fast and you find ways to feel helpful.
