That would be the Guess Who...Burton Cummings, Randy Bachman (left to found Bachman/Turner Overdrive), Jim Cale & Gary Peterson (I think I got the names right)...they said the music was their sound check song for about 6 months till they came up with some words for it

AND Randy Bachman left the Guess Who because he became a Mormon and his new found religion did not condone the lifestyle of drugs, drinking etc. that was part of the daily routine of being a member of this band during this time.
AND get this, according to Rolling Stone Magazine.....American Woman was an anti- American song and was their only real hit in the states. Now that is ironic!!!!

American Woman was def anti-US, & it may well have been their biggest hit...but I would hardly call it their only real hit in the US...at least I know I was listening to them a LOT in the early 70s...saw BTO here just before their career took off in '72 or '73...heard recently from a local DJ that before the show Randy Bachman & Charlie Daniels got into a scuffle in the backstage trailer over who would go on first...now THERE was about a quarter ton of fun rocking the trailer, with skinny little DJ tryin' to break it up...

Prettiest section of Niagara Falls.
Great skiing in the Canadian Rocky Mts.--nephew was there just before the avalanche a few weeks ago.

Yes Steve you're right. All the cute ones are on the Canadian team. I just never see a cute one on the Barbados curling team.

LOL pantyfanatic.
I'm guessing the cute Canuck curler would be Colleen Jones. She now does the morning weather on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.
LOL SS - you got me there! Just a reminder of our biggest star was all it was with Carrey - first person to get $20 million per film, IIRC.

I remeber when the Bare Naked Ladies first began to gain popularity. They had a gig booked and it was cancelled by city council due to the complaints people made about having such a show open to minors........seems people thought the "Bare Naked Ladies" were bare naked ladies putting on a show!!!
