Countdown to Kickoff:
0days 3hours 37mins 59secs
And my prediction:
In a hard faught, bruising, TYPICAL, UM-OSU football game this afternoon.
The winner of the game will cause more turnovers, and make one special teams play, that will decide the outcome.
Both offenses have playmakers, Troy Smith, Antonio Pittman, Ted Ginn Jr., Michael Hart, Chad Henne, Steve Breaston and Mario Manningham. If UM gets Hart to 100 yards and Henne doesn't have any picks UM wins.
If Troy Smith can spread out the UM defense, and distribute the ball at the start of the game, making UM stop the pass, Smith will use his mobility to gain yardage and the clock, and OSU wins.
My prediction:
UM 28
OSU 24
(as much as I'd love to see the previously discussed photos of osuche ) I just can't go against UM in this game.
The passing of Bo Schembechler, will mean more to the fans then to the players, and while I MIGHT be wrong, I don't really think it affects the outcome of the game. Once the ball is kicked off, the players will block the memories of Bo out of thier minds till after the game.

So, um, is there some kind of rivalry going on in this thread?

28-14 OSU leading at the half.
OSU was able to use the spread formation offense to dictate play in the first half. Troy Smith has been dominant. If OSU keeps this up, there is no way Michigan can come back. As good as their defense has been, this season, Michigan hasn't been able to stop OSU.
One of my "keys" to the game was 1/2 correct, OSU is using the spread offense, but not to use Troy Smith to run the ball but to pass out of it. UM can't cover all the talent of OSU's wide recievers. Great game plan by Jim Tressel.

Actually, the OSU turnovers made this a sloppy ballgame. Otherwise, we would have dominated more cleanly. Almost enough to make you wish for a BCS re-match
Good game, everyone!

I sort of saw the game the same way Osuche did. I really never felt Michigan was going to win it once they got their initial blows in early in the game. It just sort of felt to me as if Ohio St. had it in hand pretty much all along. It wasn't that Big Blue was doing anything wrong, it just felt to me as if the Buckeyes were going to come out on top.
I'm all for a rematch on Jan. 8 though. This time around I'd prefer the tradional defensive battle that this series has provided over the years.
I haven't turned on ESPN this morning to see if they are hailing this one as one of the all time greatest games yet, I'm sure that's probably the case though. Can't say I feel that way. I can't put it up there with last season's Rose Bowl, the BCS title game between OSU and Miami (FL) or even the '93 Notre Dame/Florida St. game. I'd probably say it was the equivalent to the Michigan/Texas Rose Bowl game from a couple of years ago. Nothing wrong with being in that class though, still a pretty damn entertaining ballgame.

Last minute game change
With the weather forecast for cold and possible snow yesterday, the Ohio/Michigan/Clam Bake/Party was moved down to the end of their street to the club house. Even though it was officially closed for the year, because of their activity in the beach club, they were granted special permission and a wise choice for all it was.

It made everything much easier for all including the cooks.

They ended up with 54 adults and nobody can count the scurrying rug-rats.
Not even the bigger ones that are too dumb to realize (not MY grandaughter ) that painting you face in the mirror is going to be reversed.

Thanks for posting those pics PF! That definitely was some kind of party you guys had there. Man alive, I think there were more people there for your bash than what usually show up each New Year's Eve at the local Legion Hall here to stumble into the New Year! I know for a fact that the last couple of wedding receptions I've been to were probably smaller.
The pics of the dogs were priceless! I tried to get my guy to wear a Hawkeyes sweater when he was a puppy a few years ago and he would have nothing of it. He just runs and hides now if I even go to the drawer where it's stored. You should see him in the spring and summer when I try to put a Cubs hat on him! I try to tell myself that it's because he doesn't like hats but I'm afraid that he's either a Cardinals fan or just embarrassed to be seen in the Cubs hat. There are definitely times that I couldn't blame him for feeling that way.

I miss Ohio State tailgates! We had 20 people at a friend's house, but it just wasn't the same.
www.dispatch.com has stories about the aftermath of the game. I love the pic on the front page showing the burning entertainment center being thrown off of the roof. We Buckeyes sure know how to PARTY!
