Lactation question

Hey everyone! I've got a simple question, but it may not have a simple answer. Here it goes:

Is there any way to induce lactation without a women being pregnant? Such as taking certain vitamins and estrogen supplements?

My g/f and I are trying to find an answer because of a debate we were having, and also cause I think it would be interesting to see if it can be done.

I would appreciate any serious responses anyone can give. Thanks!

My guy says he saw this on "Sex with Sue", a Canadian sex advice show. If there's enough attention paid to the breasts, a woman can lactate even if she's not pregnant! Hasn't happened to us yet, though.

I know that it may be possible but I believe you may need medical assistance to get the proper hormones in order. I have heard of adoptive mothers who have attempted to lactate so they could nurse the babies they plan to adopt.

My experience has been that after having nursed....then drying up....using an electric pump every hour and drinking gallons of fennel tea (supposed to help induce lactation) I was still unable to get my milk to come back in even though I had been a river only 6 weeks prior. After giving up nursing due to my child's medical complications....it turns out he was allergic to all formulas...Yikes!!! So I tried to relactate desperately but had no luck.

If anyone knows different would be interested to hear.

It is possible to lactate without pregnancy, in a condition where the pituitary gland produces more prolactin than normal (hormone that controls milk production) but most of these women have a hormone imbalance, or a prolaction secreting tumour. Sooo.............probably not a good thing

untrue untrue untrue
the link in my above post refers to non-natural mothers (ex. not their child), and how they can breast-feed their adopted kiddies.
Or, in this case hubbies :fly:

Cool

Being a guy with a serious lactation fetish, I would be curious to know as well. I myself think that it is incredible sexy, even more so from a pregnant woman. But that is just the extreme weirdness of me though.!

Most of the links that thun has posted deals with re-lactation, ie trying to stimulate milk production after drying up during nursing for example. This is "easier" than getting a non-pregnant person to lactate.

Of course it is possible to induce milk production, either through hormonal manipulation, directly by giving the hormone or indirectly by herb supplements (questionable efficacy) and getting a child to suckle (in an attempt to get the body to produce the hormone). It does boil down to the same physiological response.
