Do you remember?......

Does anyone remember the BIG rock bands of yesteryear?

Celticangel and I are just back from an AWESOME gig..... Deep Purple (with Ian Gillan on vocals, like it SHOULD be!) supported by........ Lynyrd Skynyrd!!

We had a fantastic night....... I still can't hear much of anything, but who cares?!?!

What bands do you remember, that you'd like to go and see again?

DM & CA

(FYI... the Rolling Stones are playing the same arena we were at tonight, in december..... CHEAPEST tickets are £85.. about $140!! Rip-off, or what??)

Have seen hundreds of concerts in my time, but never got the chance to see Pink Floyd. That is my kill or die for show. Would also like to see The Who, Golden Earring, Black Sabbath and Rush.

P.S.
DM I would seriously reconsider the Stones concert, if you are a fan. They are worth the money. I shelled out big bills to see their Voodoo Lounge tour and had some misgivings about it. That is until I saw them perform. They put on an awesome show. It was a good 3 hour show with Mick running around the stage like a wild man, never missing a breath. They played all the classics and not once have I heard anyone complain about cheated that saw the show.

The Stones are coming to T.O. to revitalize T.O after SARS. Tickets are $29.99 AND AC/DC and others will also be playing!! Unfortunately, I leave for vacation the next day so I'm not going to get tickets.

I want to see the Police! They probably won't reunite, tho'.

I do like the Stones a lot...... but all the "cheap" tickets are gone already..... only £125 & £150 ones left ($200-$245) and I don't like them THAT much!! I wouldn't go without CA, and there's no WAY I'd pay over £250 to go to a concert I'm afraid!!

I saw the Rolling Stones on their very first US tour. I paid $4.00 for my ticket. The arena wasn't even half filled and we all moved down closer to the stage. I ended up only 5 rows back. They put on a great show even then, way before all the fancy lighting and theatrics that are part and parcel of today's concerts.
Saw the Beatles twice, once in '65 ($3.00 cheap seat) and again in '66 or '67 ($5.50 floor seat).
After seeing two of the best for that kind of money, I really hesitate to pay today's prices for anyone.

But if they'd reunite and I had the money to spare, I'd love to see
Three Dog Night and the original Credence Clearwater Revival!!

The Stones should be ashamed of themselves! And someone tell that drummer to lay down....I think he died years ago and just forgot to lay down! LMFAO!

Oh.....I'd love to see Deep Purple! Smoke on the Water is still one of my fave songs of yester year.........met my first love who played that on the drums on one of our first dates.

CCR
The Guess Who
CSN
King Crimson
Yes
Ten Years After
Mott the Hoople

Did see 97 Ozzfest with Ozzy reunited with Black Sabbath again......I loved it! I saw Black Sabbath back in early 1973 and things hadn't changed all that much from my vantage point (was in the field not in the money seats).

Nearly everyone listed above are great memories for me!

I could go on and on......but would never pay to see the Rolling Stones....specially at that cost!

Well how about Nirvana? My next door neighbour saw them in Britain on their last tour, the lucky so and so.

I am really sad that the J. Geils Band does no more exist.
