Question perhaps a silly question...

i find this fascinating....
what songs/albums/artists do you all prefer to listen to whilst fucking?
i know that i personally am quite affected by what happens to be playing, and therefore have quite a few mix tapes lying around i've made for the occasion. you're all probably not as obsessive-compulsive about it as i am, (a good thing.) but still, you might have a few songs or what have you, to add to this little list i'm compiling...

Songs:

'Fade into you' by mazzy star
'you can have it all' by yo la tengo
'dirty trip' by air
'worked up so sexual' by the faint
'crush' by the dave matthews band

Albums:

'among my swan' -mazzy star
'moon safari' -air
'dark side of the moon' -pink floyd
'blue train' -john clotrane
'from the desk of Mr.lady' -Le tigre
'goo' -sonic youth

...ok, now think! then write. then post.

I like to listen to anything from Barry White to Al Green. Anything that will enhance the experience...

Perhaps a silly question...

My father always told me that the only silly question that you
could ask was the one that you don't ask!If you don't know that
is the only way that you will find out."Different strokes for
different folks"makes a lot of sense. Irish

hey! a sonic youth and yo la tengo fan?? woo hoo! hmm.. well I'm a virgin, but I think that albums that could suit the mood might be

adore - Smashing Pumpkins
unplugged in new york - Nirvana (you get the applause every 3-5 minutes )
perhaps...
rated R - queens of the stone age (if you like it rough hehe)

songs that mean something to both people though, for instance, my girlfriend really adores the song *hummer*...(hmm, appropriate name ) by the smashing pumpkins and its emotional and defines points of our relationship yadi yada... we need more posts involiving music everybody!! at last something I can have a substantiated (sp?) opinion on.

I believe Composer may have started a thread like this a couple of months ago. Composer where you at man?

Although I've not "set the mood" with music since college some of the stuff this thread has gotten me thinking again.

I have played classical, particularly Mozart, but I think Beethoven would be great as well as Schubert.

Enya set a great mood. Very sensual, very etherial. Perfect for those earth moving moments.

A couple of artists I've been thinking about using for mood music are the late great Marvin Gaye and the great but not late George Clinton and PFunk.

I also think some jazz would be good, but I'm too uniformed about that. I really dig Coltrane, but don't know if it would work. Any suggestions folks?

ahem, fang...i mentioned "blue train", which happens to be by the lovely mister john coltrane, above in my little list-o-songs.

i dont know, though...generally, i prefer to rock out.
which leads me to the following additions to my list:

far beyond driven -pantera
opiate -tool
anything by gluecifer or the hellacopters
bridge to the northern lights -aveo

i find enya to be...how do i put this? cloying? gag-inducing? maybe that new agey stuff works on other girls, maybe it works on ALL the other girls, and is therefore a good idea, but i can only speak for myself, and my undying disdain for all things enya.

blech.

If I may be so bold to chime in on this one...

1. Miles Davis
2. Sting
3. Prince (or whatever in the Hell he's calling himself these days)
4. Al Green
5. Barry White
6. anything that has some sort of funky techno beat
7. Marvin Gaye (Let's Get It On, Sexual Healing)
8. slow jams from R. Kelly
9. Mozart, Bach, Beethoven, Puccini, etc
10. AC/DC (all their stuff)
11. Sarah Brightman
12. Andrea Bocelli

A fantasy of mine is to do a strip tease for my boyfriend to 'Edge of the World' by Faith No More. Rock and sex just go hand and hand, although Engima can be quite a sexual experience in itself.

=:-)

I have to agree with you on the Enya thing. Even though I've used it before for "love makin'" I don't listen to her much at all these days. I used to listen to her to sleep, but got one of those wave sound machines instead.

I just can't imagine having sex to Pantera though. I think I'd get a headache.

Which album is Blue Train from Lux?

enya pretty much blows...:)

fang darling....blue train is a song title and an album title..i should have specified. it's on blue note records, if i'm not mistaken.

and sex to pantera (something i only chanced upon while dating a cute little metalhead rally car driving kid named zeke) is really quite rad. in a sped up, sweaty, frantic kinda way.
but the entire thing doesn't work if you dont like pantera to begin with.
just common sense.

additions....(ahem)...
albums:
dummy -portishead (fang...it has the same dreamy, etherial, slow kind of effect on things like enya does, but it doesn't make you barf, like enya does. yay!)
fiona apple -tidal (you laugh now, but chicks fucking DIE for it...especially younger ones. heh heh.)

songs:
summertime...janis joplin ( i cant explain this one, except to say that it just makes sense.)
sexy boy...Air

Can I throw in a suggestion of The William Tell Overture by Rossini. The full version is 12 minutes long and goes through several changes of pace leading to a wild crescendo (The Lone Ranger theme !!). Failing that Bryan Ferry, Savage Garden or Paul Young.
