modem??
If you remember, last week,my computer was acting up&I asked
Kim if there was a problem with the site. She had replied that it
was probably a problem with my server.I contacted their Technical
Service. They told me what to do&I thought the problem was fixed.
Towards the end of last week,I had the same problem, only worse!I did the same fix,but still had the problem.I called the Tech.Service again. They can access most of your functions,on their
screen.They had the same problem.They sent a repair tech.&truck
over. The problem turned out to be my computers modem, which
they replaced.Moral:Like anything, let the people that have the proper knowledge&test equipment, check things out, instead of
trying to fix things yourself.I found that out when I had my motorcycle business.Trying to save yourself some money, usually,
ends up,costing you more! Irish

Okay, but did they cover the replacement costs for you? Or do you need to talk to whomever manufactured the old modem (assuming it was under warranty)?

LOL Irish ....the story of my life. We always have to fix things ourselves at my house. Spend a fortune to try then when it is still screwed up have to spend more $$$ for the repair person we could have just called in the first place. Reminds me of a summer spent repairing the main water pipe to my house.....It was the best my lawn ever looked

dadaist---My television service was under Metrocast Cable.
I had my computer service changed to Metrocast,so that it
wouldn't use my telephone lines. My wife knows how it is billed
but ,I think it is included in the fee.(Rental?)All that I know is that they took my OLD modem & replaced it with the newest model. No
fee! Irish

No fee is always good.
Most cablemodem/xDSL are supposed to provide that stuff, but some of them make you buy, so I wasn't sure.

Lilith---Example:One of my Sons-in law installs cables for AT&T
He has put cables,in my house,in 1/8 of the time that it would take me to do it!
He has a motorcycle.I can do things on his bike in 1/2hr.,that it would take him 3days to do.
It's just a matter of familiarity, and having the proper tools&know-
how. Irish
