Steriotypes
I HATE steriotypes, but my wife might be right on this one.I thought that ,you guys, would get a kick out of this.I have noticed
that DRs,act very straight, until they know how you take things.
Then they are just like everyone!(They don't have to put on airs)
I have told everyone that I had a spinal cord stimulator, placed in
me.It is supposed to change the pain impulses with electrical
impulses. It is a temporary trial & the amount of the impulse is controlled by a modulator. It is adjustable.A man,who works,at the
Pain Clinic, called me,to ask how it was working.I told him that,I
couldn't seem to get the severity of the impulses right. With my body,in one position,it was just right. If I changed positions,it didn't work right,at that setting.I told him that if I turned it up,I got a throbbing(impulse)in the wrong leg & that I even got a throbbing in the head of my dick.He laughed and said-"That's an added bonus!"He said-"Even if it doesn't,work for the pain, you might want to get one anyway!"
Maybe my wife is right! She said that all men were pigs,in one way or another. Irish

Lilith---That name sounds right,I'mnot sure.Iheard them call it something, but I thought that it was Attend Machine.I was under a mild anesthetic,so I could be wrong. They, previously, tried other
things. They didn't work so suggested this. All that I know,is that it is called a Spinal Cord Stimulator. Irish
P.S.I'm supposed to keep an hourly diary,to help detirmine if I get
a permanent one.In the diary,you rate your pain intensity,on a scale of 1-10.

I know what you mean about doc's seeming one way and actually turning out to be "human", Irish. I went to my doc's once with poison ivy all over me. She came in, took one look, and proceeded to tell me she knows my agony. She had it all around her lips (it was just going away but was still red and looked sore). I asked her how she got it there. She said, "Well, not many of my patients know this but, I have a llama and she loves to "kiss" (lick) me on the mouth when I come to her pen to see her in the evening. Seems she also likes to eat poison ivy! LOL!
I hope you get things straightened out..and don't come to rely on that "special" tingle too much! *giggle* Good luck babe!

LOL! It's not what you think bad boy! I was removing English ivy from atop boulders in my back yard.....and the poison ivy was mingled between and I really didn't notice till somewhere near the end of removal! That's all!

Me a bad boy? Only semi-bad. We do not have poison ivy out here. Things in ivy are what you have to watch out for.

TENS = Theraputic electric nerve stimulation
I used to service them once when I was a medical service technician.
The theory is that it sets up an interference to pain stimuli by pulsing at a frequency and intensity that blocks it.
I had it used on me for a persistant neck pain and it worked for me.
Sounds like a TENS device to me Irish

The technology has developed incredibly since then I would think
