Holidays/Vacation?
Tell me...curious minds need to know *LOL*
What holidays does your workplace give you?
Do you work public holidays?
Are you are weekend worker?
Do you work a split shift?
Do you have to work up hours? (ADO~Accured Days Off, RDO~Rostered Days Off, etc)
Do you like your job? If not, what would you like to be employed as?

I get most of the US Federal Holidays off:
New Years Day (Jan. 1)
Martin Luther King Day (Third Monday in Jan.)
Presidents Day (Third Monday in Feb.)
Memorial Day (Fourth Monday in May)
Independence Day (July 4)
Labor Day (First Monday in Sept.)
Columbus Day (Second Monday in Oct.)
Thanksgiving (Fourth Thurs in Nov.)
Day after Thanksgiving
Christmas Day (Dec. 25)
Very few public (US) holidays are worked at my company - though I've been known to work one or two to catch up.
I only work weekends when I absolutely must (catch up time).
I love my job, I presently dislike a few of my coworkers/management.
In addition to the holiday time off, I also get a fair amount of "vacation" and a few personal days too. Honestly, it seems like I have to work twice as hard fore and aft any time off.

We get 8 holidays a year
New Years day
memorial Day
Good Friday
July the 4th
Labor day
thanksgiving and the day after
Christmas Day
Usally we don't have to work on a holiday unless we are way behind
we work 6 days a week pretty much all the time, with the high oil prices now its 9 hr days with all the overtime you want to work
vacation time is service based 3weeks after 5 years

What holidays does your workplace give you? ~I work at home doing child care so I get off Thanksgiving and Christmas for sure. Sometimes I will get other holiday's off if my parents don't have to work.
Do you work public holidays? ~If they need me
Are you are weekend worker? ~Just started watching a couple of kids on Saturday. I don't like it but I needs the money.
Do you work a split shift? ~I work anywhere form 6am to 6pm depending on the schedules of my parents.
Do you have to work up hours? (ADO~Accured Days Off, RDO~Rostered Days Off, etc) ~Nope
Do you like your job? If not, what would you like to be employed as? ~I don't like my job. I love the kids but the job is hard and it's not reliable. I just lost two kids out of the blue because the parents changed jobs and no longer needed me. It sucks and now I get to be poorer and wait for my next one to call me. I do plan to get out of this work next year. I don't know what I'm going to do but I do know diapers and runny noses won't be in it.

Are you are weekend worker? no
Do you work a split shift? no
Do you have to work up hours? (ADO~Accured Days Off, RDO~Rostered Days Off, etc) not sure
Do you like your job? If not, what would you like to be employed as? I hope I'll like it since it's taken me so long to get there.

Before I retired, it was about the same as jay-t plus Martin Luther King's birthday. In addition we got up to four weeks vacation and five personal days off each year.
Now, it's like Cjack, retired ... 24/7 ... 52 weeks per year. I like this better.

I am in a position that requires me to be on call everyday 24/7 including weekends unless I book off time.....absolutely no statutory days at all.
I am allowed 2 weekends per month and as many weeks off as I want to as long as a replacement can be convinced to take over for me.
LOL...guess what I do?

What holidays does your workplace give you?
New Years Day
Martin Luther King Day
Presidents Day
Memorial Day
Independence Day
Labor Day
Thanksgiving
Day after Thanksgiving
Christmas Day
I'm up to three weeks paid vacation. In addition, I have three sick days per year and three personal days.
Are you are weekend worker? Not unless there's an emergency.
Do you work a split shift? Nope
Do you have to work up hours? Nope...they're handed out Jan 1. And unused days are lost.
Do you like your job? If not, what would you like to be employed as? There's days I like it and days I don't. I've definately had worse jobs. I'd love to run a small cafe but don't have the balls to take that leap.

What holidays does your workplace give you?
44 days a year, including our 8 public holidays - we only get them if we work 'em though.
Do you work public holidays?
See above
Are you are weekend worker?
Currently, I work about one weekend in six
Do you work a split shift?
Nope
Do you have to work up hours? (ADO~Accured Days Off, RDO~Rostered Days Off, etc)
No, but if we work over our rostered hours, we get it back at a rate of 2:1
Do you like your job? If not, what would you like to be employed as?
Love the job, hate the paperwork that goes with it. Seems to grow 100% every year!!

As a government employee (yea I am one of them) I get all the usual Federal Holidays but if one happens to fall on my day of work, I work. Don't usually ask for any holidays off, trying to se the example for my employees. But we do get a premium pay for working on a holiday. I go to work at 4 AM and other than that pretty much set my own hours. Other than that, the cell phone never gets turned off.
My weekends are Friday and Saturday so I do work a partial weekend. I enjoy having a Friday off, stores are less crowded it seems.
I am one of those wierd people that actually loves my job. It gives me a chance to use my formal education and help my employees with their problems (just wish they would grow up most of the time and stop worrying about what their co-workers are getting away with)
