Rabbit in London
OK, next Saturday I leave for my first trip to Europe (5 days). This is a business trip so I will not have a lot of time to sightsee. In London for three days, just a day-and-a-half for fun...the other day-and-a-half for work. Then France for two days, near Lyon. On the return trip, we connect in Paris and have three hours before we leave for the US.
So, if you had just a day-and-a-half in London to play, what would you do? What would you see?
Any ideas or suggestions?

The last time I was there, there was an HMS ship docked between the London Bridge and the Tower Bridge, which you could tour. Was cool.
Notting Hill is kind of cool -- neat parks you can explore, and some good British pubs
Tower of London -- you can see all the instruments of torture and meet some really *cool* ravens.
Visit a few pubs -- eat some spotted dick or fish and chips and drink a few beers. Good stuff. But if the British ladies attack you, don't believe it when they try and convince you that snogging is a British tradition.
See the Changing of the Guard at the Palace. Try to kiss one of the guards and see if he moves (mine did. he smiled)
Churchill's War Room -- a coupl eof blocks from the Palace -- had a lot of WWII related memorabilia (a fave of Mr Osuche)
The big park near the Palace has some really pretty lakes, and features a pair of black swans (or at least it did when I was last there)

Erm.....I don't do London very often, and it depends what you're into....I'm a museum fan, and I just love The British Museum, and the V&A, although it's been years since I was last there.
If you're more of a shopper, then Oxford Street is the place to head for, and you could always do Harrods just to say you've done it. You could see if you get tickets to a show in the West End for the evening too....oh and there's the London Eye, although I've not been so I don't know what that's like.

Thanks for the tips...keep 'em coming.
Lou, I do believe I will take in the British Museum, one of the great tributes to human history on earth.
What is the London Eye?
