yeah, i stole that from alton.
tell us a few food items that are almost always in your pantry or freezer. do you use them when you're in a dinner bind? what do you make with them?
or do they just collect dust and freezer burn?

First~ You spelled it wrong.
Second~ I never keep them in the freezer but I DO consider that treasure chest my pantry of sorts.
Third~ Most of the time they are appetizers and sometimes dessert but only the main course when I eat alone.
Forth~ Sauce

I have half a dozen cans of tuna plus some more cans of chicken & ham - I love making sandwiches with that stuff, it's so easy. But I rarely think of it.

I usually have garbanzo beans too. I use pasta, olives, the beans, sundried tomatoes, and feta for a pasta salad when I need a quick potluck dish.

I love chick peas and there are always a half dozen cans in my pantry. Along with small, medium and large black olives. That's more the result of not paying attention than careful planning though.
We usually have plenty of rice & pasta on hand, and a variety of goofy kind of sauces to add interest to things. My most recent discovery is a Pomegranate Chipotle roasting sauce.
I also have the fixins for a damn good Chinese dinner. Everything I need to make my own General Tso's Chicken...but I haven't done it yet. So that's my dust collector. ha ha

In the cupboards you'd usually find pasta, jar or two of pasta sauce, biscuit mix, cornbread mix, some sort of canned veggie. And there is microwave popcorn that made the move with me last May that I honestly don't ever remember buying.
In the freezer I'll usually have some ground beef, ground turkey, bacon, maybe a frozen pizza.

We always have peanut butter (crunchy and creamy depending on our mood), eggs, cheese, some sort of veggies, and the ever popular coffee.

I've got some brown sugar that could be used as a weapon if need be.

I always have pasta and sauce, Stouffer's Lasagna in the freezer, fish sticks and tater tots, and frozen chicken breast.
I'm never withoutt mushrooms, onions, and spinach.
We always have english muffins, peanut butter, and all the almonds you could eat
Never without Oats n Almonds cereal, creamer, and a pot of tea in the kitchen is always ready.

Oh gosh... in the pantry - pasta, rice, sauces (tomato, cheese, cream soups), canned fruit, oatmeal.
In the freezer - ground beef, ground turkey, pork chops, chicken breasts, veggies.

Yep, me too Aqua. And now wyndhy has me wondering what would happen if I put panties in a bag with a piece of bread for a day. Do the panties flavor the bread or vice versa?
Bad IowaMan
and yep, always have chicken hooters in the freezer too.
