Shape of a Dildo?

I was talking with a friend that other day. She is heading off to another city to study for a year. I’m not sure how but we ended up talking about dildoes. Why is it that almost all realistic dildoes are shaped after circumcised penises? Is that the Sex Toy industry saying that a circumcised penis is sexier? Would you buy a toy modeled on an uncircumcised penis?

We never did resolve the question. After awhile we moved onto another topic.

Ummmm... maybe because if a dildo or vibe isn't shaped like a circumcised penis, it is a long, firm object with a tapered end, like almost every other dildo or vibrator made?
Think, hon. If you make a "realistic" dildo, you want to accent the features, so you pick the shapes with the most detail.

Or maybe not. I prefer the other kind anyway.

Well, for starters I think cut penises are more common in the US anyway. If you make realistic, you make it what your customers are 'realistically' used to.

And I think it'd probably be hard to make foreskin, too.

And yes, I probably would buy an 'uncut dildo' if there was such a thing that was done well.

I think it comes down to that when a man and a women have sex the penis is usuallly hard and therefore the head itself would stick out at the top. I have seen dildo's where they have tried at least to have foreskin on it. It was just behind the head and was what I can only describe 2 rib like rings that merged into the rest of it. So to answer your question, yes they do make them but it is just for look rather than anything else. Don't ask me if the ribbed rings do anything for the girl though.

Not an expert by any means (typical US cut male here), but it seems to me that the foreskin draws back on most fully erect members, and one would suppose there's very little demand for flacid dildoes...

CTG, I think you're dead on about the difficulty in making a realistic foreskin on a dildo...but I seem to remember seeing an "uncut" version in a catalog somewhere sometime...my guess is it had to be somewhat higher priced as well, so...

edit: ok, clearly mark beat me to the post by 3 minutes...BFD...

A few more points...
Firstly the foreskin doesn't always retract behind the head of the penis on all erect uncut dicks. Mine doesn't, for example, and haven't had enough experience to comment on how common it is!

But also doing a google search there ARE dildos with foreskin, or at least an attempt at foreskin... but i think generally they're pretty pathetic. It can't be easy to do...

Consider, the Foreskin Dildo. Call that realisitic? I don't!
Or the Latex Foreskin Prosthetic - a ugly strap on that looks like it could scratch.
And then there's the Replicock. It doesn't even look like that foreskin moves, but it's hard to tell.
