Steph,

I see you are on the recovery. Good luck, and speedy recovery!

Call your favorite restaurant, and let them take care of you. Pick up or in some cases delivery. I work for a restaurant, and I know I would love to be able to take care of my customers, even including delivery. I know several of the major chains do delivery, including mine, and there are a couple of good companies out there that handle only deliveries...let them wait hand and foot on you, or w2ait hand and foot on your maid (=)) and let them do the hard work, and you reap the benefits....

well... since I happen to be an auto nut I think I need to dispute that one. The Cord (produced by Auburn) was produced in late 1929 and the very early 1930s and it was a front wheel drive model (with brakes located in the middle of the drive shafts no less, not at the wheels like on many cars).

I just happen to know about that particular one because my uncle had one sitting in his driveway undergoing restoration :)

Citroen, however, does get the credit for making the first truly mass produced front wheel drive car know as the "Traction Avant" (literally "taction up front"). I believe the first Traction Avant model was actually the 7CV (though that is from memory).

[edit] for some odd reason I also feel the need to point out that front wheel drive cars were also present before 1929 but were mostly racing cars and not for public consumption. The mechanical requirements to get power to the front wheels and steering at the same time made these cars very difficult to manufacture originally.

OK... I'm going back to being a geek somewhere else :)

16,839~You are probably right, MilkToast. I directly quoted a trivia book...but, as we know, the written word isn't necessarily right 100% of the time. Perhaps the "mass-produced" difference is the key. :D
